The 5 Pillars

Celebrating community and culture

These pieces created by Fluke and his team are the result of an inspirational study led by the artist into the community and culture surounding the site. Much of this inspiration has been collected over the last three years while fluke has been producing various works in Calgary especially the beltline. The five pillars have been divided into a variety of themes and colour pallets to showcase different values.

The Albertan climate and wildlife, It’s rich flora and agricultural heritage, The beltlines ever-growing community and local business development, Neighbourhood landmarks and even values of courage and curiosity are just some of the ideas explored by the artist and that can be found in the work.

The pillars surround the building that is now considered a landmark in the neighbourhood. They act as individual colour beacons giving viewers a bigger sense of orientation and direction in regards to the structure and the surrounding area.
